Plett Game Reserve is home to some very rare animals

Plettenberg Game Reserve has an array of different wild animals.
The sought after Black Impala and the Golden Wildebeest are two of these.

The Black Impala, found in very few places in Africa, is an extremely rare type. A recessive gene causes the black colouration in these animals.

Golden Wildebeest, or better described as Palamino coloured, fall in the same category as white lions, king cheetah and black impala, which are not separate species, but colour variants of the common lion, cheetah or impala. The colour variation on the golden wildebeest can be described to a recessive gene, which carries the blueprint for the animal’s colour.

These animals are both extremely rare.

PBGR buys Buffalo Hills

Plettenberg bay Game Reserve is VERY excited to announce that they have recently bought Buffalo Hills farm which is located about 2km away from Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve.

We will now be able to offer self catering accommodation in 3 farm houses and 2 tents on the farm.

Buffalo Hills is situated at the end of a lovely farm road called Stofpad.  The farm offers lovely walks and a big boma and swimming pool. The stone houses are rustic and comfortable.  Rates are very reasonable and are inclusive of staff to make fires and help prepare food and clean up.

We have taken on a partner at Buffallo Hills.  Trevor and Mandy Frost will assist by adding their taste and expertise to the farm.

We have just started some restructuring, refurbishing and cleaning up of the houses and houses.  The farm will be home to both wild game and cattle and will be the perfect place to spend a weekend with family and friends in the country side.

Watch this space for updates and photos as we complete our refurbishment.
