This stunning photo was taken from The Baroness Boma and was such an
amazing photo as the sky was mirrored in the dam next to the lodge. Hilary the
hippo is now living in this dam. She seems to find it more peaceful here as her
family is quite large. She is the older sister of the Wonderful "Wet Clan" who
all live in the Main Dam and travel around a lot at night. Hilary is very calm and
loves to sit and wallow quietly in the dam and watch guests having their diner in the Boma.

Animal numbers doubled at Plett Game Reserve
Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve has been really busy lately! Many of our animals have grown and we have plenty of new arrivals too. All the animal numbers
have almost doubled and the crocodiles are doing very well. All this growth and abundance is due to good rain
and lots of water in our dams to keep the grass quality good.
From next month, all the telephone
lines above the ground will be buried and no lines will be visible anymore. The
operation will take around 1 month to complete and will be really good for the giraffes who occasionally knock into the telephone wires.

All about our chickens

Our chickens provide great excitement to guests as they cluck around the shed looking for shrubs and insects.
They are great for keeping insects away and also we use their droppings for the garden fertilizer....that's another reason why gardens are growing so well. The chickens' eggs are sold to our staff and are so natural and healthy to eat.
Blooming gardens at PBGR
At Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, our gardens are looking spectacular after the 44mm of rain we have had so far in April. Our flowers are in bloom, the sun is shining and everything is GREEN GREEN GREEN!
